A plea to south Africans

It is saddening to witness the slaughter, destruction and beatings going on in Johannesburg and in other parts of South Africa.
The racism against Zimbabweans, Somalis and other migrants is disgusting and should be stopped immediately. It is astonishing that these rampaging mobs engaging in pogroms have conveniently forgotten the help offered to them in the dark days of apartheid. Zimbabwe hosted the ANC leaders and many were trained in Mozambique, Angola and dozens of other African countries. It is shocking to see brothers turning on the dispossessed refugees from other African countries.

Channel 4's unreported world had a programme highlighting this very issue before it exploded on a grander scale. It contained reports of Somali businesses being targeted by racists and the murder of Somalis which wasn't receiving much press attention from the authorities. Nevertheless, along with the murders of white farmers in rural areas, it seems south Africa has a long way to exorcise the ghosts of racist past.

What does it take for the south African government to take the murders of Zimbabwean and other immigrants and white farmers seriously?
It is ethnic cleansing by stealth and Mbeki must share the blame for his government's role in the appalling news coming from south Africa.
Mbeki has protected Mugabe from any sanction for his human rights abuses.
Indeed, Mbeki has kept Mugabe in power this long. The Zimbabweans fleeing to SA are seeking sanctuary in a country they helped many decades ago.
It is unAfrican for these people to treat guests in their country in this manner.
Mbeki's policies are hurting Zimbabweans in their country and now in SA.

I wil be glad when he is gone. His ineptitude on the Mugabe matter and the myriad of problems facing SA mean its time to go now.

Harry Saxe Coburg Gotha serves in Afghanistan

Following the 'revelations'that young mr. Gotha was 'serving' in Afghanistan, i have tried to make sense of the whole episode.
Many Brits have fallen hook, line and sinker for the palace spin that Harry served and that it was leaked by Bild, Drudge and an Aussie women's magazine.
Excuse me if i don't buy this bullshit, i believe we have been lied to start to end.
The inordinate coverage has perplexed many, there were special news events by SKy, BBC, ITN which meant the coalition government agreement in Nairobi got less than 5 minutes coverage. It is also a shame that the British press colluded with the palace, MOD and government to censor the news that Gotha was serving in Afghanistan.
What we got instead was highly edited propaganda of the young man allegedly doing his job: Coordinating flight movements; playing rugger with Fijians; Hanging out with Gurkha warriors et al.
The British press should be ashamed of itself for sinking to a new low. What else are the so called journalists sitting on? What else have they censored in conjunction with the government? Pathetic.

Finally, i just think the whole episode disgusted me. I am appalled that such coverage can get so much press devotion whilst the injured soldiers, poorly equipped brave soldiers fighting in a war they cannot win get so little attention.
Has the press covered the PTSD and other mental health problems suffered by the brave service men and women? Yet, the 'holiday' service of a rich, spolit, nazi uniform wearing twat gets wall to wall coverage for days.

Britain has been exercising her neo colonialism through her man in Nairobi, Adam Wood. Wood suggested that Britain doesn't recognise Kibaki's government.

This sort of paternalistic outburst is unhelpful during mediation talks. Annan speaks of a a coalition government in the making, the Brits being the shenzis they are speak of not recognising Kibaki's presidency. Can i just point out that we are a sovereign state, and any attempt to meddle in the mediation is coounter productive.

Why should i mince my words? We are living in a stasi state.
During the past few months, we have learned:
The police routinely bugged conversations between solicitors and terrorist suspects; Britain has the largest DNA databse in the world; Britain has the largest number of CCTV cameras in the world; DNA profiles of children are kept by the police; DNA profiles of suspects are retained by police even though a person has been cleared of any criminal offence; 600 public bodies can access covert communications of the UK population et al.

Where is the outcry? Did we fight WW2 to have such interference in our lives? Where is the fucking indignation among MPs?
Have many Brits become content with this surveillance Stasi shit? It seems so. I have written extensively on civil liberties for years on this blog. I would have thought that by now Brits would be mounting campaigns of civil disobedience against this fucking stasi cunts in government and the security agencies.

Raila must not be allowed to destroy Kenya

Raila Odinga, the so called champion od democracy in Kenya, is inciting pogroms against the Kikuyu in Kenya. Time and again he has refused to diffuse the violence by proclaiming himself the winner, and urging his supporters to 'demonstrate' against the result of the presidential election.

It really makes me sick that he is hailed as a democrat. This man was responsible for the coup d'etat of 1982 in which air force officers attempted to seize power in the country backed by one, Raila Odinga. How does he suddenly become a democrat who abides by electoral law? His incitements against Kikuyus will not stop until he seizes power by any means- including civil war.
What Kenya needs is talks between Kibaki and Raila mediated by Africans.
Raila must drop his demand that he will not talk unless Kibaki says he lost the electin. That really says a lot about the man, and i'm sick and tired of the press portraying him as an Al Gore African equivalent.

The porgroms in Eldoret and Narok against Kikuyus are a consequence of Raila's intrasigence. He has no respect for the rule of law along with his genocidaire supporters who burned Kikuyus seeking sanctuary in a church in Eldoret.
How on earth can Raila claim the government is incting violence when scenes reminiscent of Rwanda in 1994 are playing in the Rift valley? Those poor Kikuyus were killed because of their ethnic origin and no other reason. The rampaging mobs must be stopped by deploying security forces to protrect them from barbarians intent upon genocide.

I am so angry i'm unable to sleep. Raila's suppoerters have burned down property in Kisumu, killed PNU supporters, and looted without restraint from their political leaders. De Menezes execution and accountability

Just what will it take for the Met police to be accountable for its execution of a n innocent man. A jury yesterday found the met police force guilty of putting the public at risk under Health and Safety laws.
The question remains why weren't any armed officers prosecuted by the CPS over the matter? What of the brass? Cressida Dick who was in charge of the shambolic operation escaped any censure or indeed prosecution. Just what do we have to do in this country to hold the police accountable? How many others have to be executed by incompetent officers before the Menezes family gets any justice?

Following the verdict, Ian Blair, the commish, very swiftly appeared before the cameras and stated he wasn't going to resign. Why not?
Remember the lies on 22 July 2005: Menezes jumped over a barrier; he failed to stop when asked by police; he was involved in terrorism etc.
The lies given by the police means we can't trust them ever again when it comes to matters such as terrorism or the use of armed policemen.
The police escaped prosecution despite their ineptitude resulting in the loss of an inncoent Brazilian going to work, lying to the public and media, covering up the truth. Whatever happened to the CCTV in Stockwell station? How convenient that it wasn't working on the day. The whole episode stinks of incompetence, negligence and brutality.

Why do some Brits persist in questioning De Menezes' status in this country following his execution? I have heard some morons claiming he would be alive if he had gone home upon the expiration of his visa. However, the police would still have executed him regardless of the endorsement on his passport.

I couldn't believe my eyes when i read about a conference convened by homeoquacks to exchange more ways of defrauding the public.
Among some of highlights according to Nick Cohen's column, include chralatans who claim their expensive water can treat AIDS. What disgusts me about these pseudo scientists is the fact that they dispense their quackery at taxpayers expense (London Homeoquackery hospital) and that they are allowed to peddle their bullshit in the beautiful continent. We have heard of quacks claiming they can treat malaria and now HIV/AIDS?

This madness has got to stop. Homeoquackery fails when subjected to rigorous scientific scrutiny i.e. double blind trials which ALL medicines must undergo.
Why is the gov't wasting time with these quacks? Why are they allowed to operate in poor countries and defraud the public about their so called cures?

Just another fucking summer in England.
Honestly, i have just about had enough of the fucking rain. Hardly an hour goes by without rain. So much for summer, i can see why the Brits fled this country during the days of empire. It is enough to drive you fucking insane- wearing coats in fucking July- just having to cope with the weather.

Another thing that has annoyed me is the jihadis idiots trying to blow up nightclubs and airport terminals. Thank goodness they are as thick as pigshit and couldn't actually organise a pissup in a brewery( would love to see a jihadi in a brewery :D ) and no casualities resulted in their actions - apart from themselves( who gives a shit if the jihadi cunt received 3rd degree burns).
It is a hightime people stopped making excuses and accepted that there are violent totalitarian cunts amongst us who will stop at nothing including slaughtering innccent people to achieve their aims of restoring the caliphate abolished by Ataturk.

Writing in the observer on sunday, Hodge said that housing should always be prioritised to British people. Apart from the fact that most immigrants/ asylum seekers are rarely housed by local authorities, it seems Hodge has been getting her facts from somewhere. Perhaps the bnp website has given her'facts' about the housing shortage in her constituency.

It really reveals a lot about new labour when a cabinet minister tries to outflank fascists by repeating what they are saying. It is quite another thing when the cabinet minister in question is descended from Jewish immigrants.

The 'Maddy McCann' story never seems to die.
For the past 13 days, we have been subjected to endless commnetary, reports from Portugal on the disappearance of the little girl. Yesterday, the whole episode turned ugly. Some idiots at the palace of Westminster decided to wear yellow ribbons to publicise their' empathy' or 'togetherness' with the McCann family.
The England cricket team taking on the west Indies also lost their fucking marbles and decided top wear yellow ribbons.

I hope they find the child safely and return her to her family. However, this doesn't mean a repeat of the hysterical irrational behaviour witnessed during Diana's death in 1997. Yellow ribbons, millions of pounds for info leading to the child's return, a 'Maddy' fund, special mass at churches etc.
These are some of the signs of weird and baffling behaviour among the British in recent days.

What happened to the stiff upper lip? I'm starting to think it was a colonial myth. Why should the BBC spend half its programme broadcasting from Portugal on this story?
Why not broadcast from eastern Congo? Millions have died there.
What about the Thai/Burma border? Millions are fleeing the evil military junta, yet their story remains unheard in the western world.

What makes Madeleine McCann so special that the nation has taken leave of its senses and are fixated upon the entire ugly events in Portugal?
Millions of kids disappear every year, the media and public don't behave in the manner that they are behaving in now.

Am i the only one baffled by the excessive, OTT coverage about the tragic abduction of a 4 year old girl in Portugal? Why have the news networks devoted hours of inane coverage to the story while other important stories are left out?
Could it be that the girl is blonde, white, middle class?
I hate to say it but, the coverage has gone beyond what is rational.
The media has lost the plot again. The British tabloids and the news networks have now set up camp in Praia de Luz( Had never heard of it until 10 days ago) and subject us to tedious 'updates' often with no new leads on the abduction of the child.

If only the media wouldn't forget the tragedy that is: Darfur; Chad; Congo; Burma; Palestine etc. Why does the tragic abduction of a British child in Portugal warrant acres of coverage than children being killed by the most vicious regimes on earth in the aforementioned countries?
The news of the world has offered a reward of £1.5m for information leading to the safe return of the child. I would suggest to the NOTW that the money would save thousands of Madeleines in refugee camps in Chad, in eastern Congo, the Burma/Thai border, or helping refugees fleeing the sectarian cleansing in Iraq.
Why does the media always do this? Is it because she is the perfect victim?

Why i fell out of love with the UK

As a young man i moved to the UK in the 90s to study at a university in the north.
I was a naive, culture shocked African immigrant who was pleased to be in the land of Tom Paine and Shakespeare. I was looking forward to observing how a liberal democratic country functioned and taking my ideas back home which was under a brutal dictatorship.
The impression i had overseas of the UK was a country that was welcoming, tolerant, liberal, not corrupt and believed in fair play.

More than a decade has passed since i first moved here and, how times have changed. The euphoria that greeted the electoral triumph of new labour on that sunny day in 1997 has evaporated. The tories were sleazy, and the country needed a change. How naive i was!
The new labour project began to unravel and Tony Blair's interventionist policy- Kosovo was his first intervention- was a sign of things to come. Along the way, Pinochet was arrested for his crimes against humanity after seizing power in chile, in London. Perhaps that was new labour's greatest triumph with regard to human rights.

Since then, Sierra Leone( where conflict is on the horizon, again), AFghanistan and Iraq have been invaded by British troops. So much for respecting international law.
It's not just foreign policy, the assault on civil liberties: ID cards, internment, CCTV, mental health bill, ASBOs, DNA database, have made me reach the conclusion that Britain is a police state bent on monitoring its citizens just like the stasi did in east Germany.

Tony Blair famously said ' Africa is a scar on the conscience of the world' . Hardly anybody would disagree that the beautiful continent has been raped and pillaged by western countries and institutions, and fellow African countries recently.
Blair missed his calling as a thespian. He openly supports dictatorships if they ptotect British investment and corporations in Africa. He deports refugees to Congo, Sudan and Zimbabwe whilst criticising their human rights atrocities. He talks about poverty reduction in Africa whilst refusing to cancel the debts of Africa unless they submit to his privatisation agenda.
The Blair government also sold weapons to Indonesia while it was repressing eastTimorese, the Israelis who use their weapons indiscriminately in the occupied territories etc.

Blair recently told black communities that our culture was responsible for the shootings and stabbings which have blighted our young men in London. This is the same man who relies upon black voters 78% of who vote labour, to help him win elections in mostly urban areas. This man has done nothing for black communities in this country and overseas.

Finally, the debate surrounding immigration - which i write regularly about- is disturbing. Liam Byrne ( wonder ehere the name is from?) said yesterday that immigration was damaging certain communitiesin this country. The reason we have economic migrants is because their industries in the developing world have been destroyed by the SAPs dictated to them by the Bretton Wood institutions. Dumping, civil service and public sectorredundancies, privatisation of parastatals, agricultural subsidies result in poverty in the sounther countries. The reason people move here is to escape poverty and seek a slice of the wealth that is inaccessible to them in their countries.
Another reason people come here is to escape persecution. War, genocide and ethnic cleansing e.g. in Iraq, where 2 million people have fled a civil war which resulted from the occupation by coalition forces. These Iraqis are fleeing death squads, IEDs, occupation forces etc. Upon arrival to the UK, the government has deemed Iraq safe to return home. It's bad enough that we bombed the shit out of their country resulting in a death toll of up to 600,000, we then refuse to offer them a safe haven when its patently clear from any news broadcast that Iraq is a dangerous country.

Another factor to take into account is the DNA database which holds samples of 40% of black men in the UK. DNA samples are taken when a suspect is arrested according to the relevant legislation. This practice has led to samples being taken from people who are later released without charge, acquited or even from children. Blair says it has solved rapes, murders and other serious crimes. While i have no doubt it has helped solve some crimes, i wonder how many rapists and murderers there are among children who have samples take from them.
What is the agenda behind DNA samples of a large proportion of black males in this country?
This government cannot be trusted with anything.

I have now advised students from my home country wishing to study here or, people wishing to work here to avoid the UK. For reasons given above and in previous posts, i think is at best hostile, at worst racist to immigrants.
I am now considering moving back to my home country, i'm not going to be here when they start handing out yellow stars in the future. I will take with me stories of a country where i met many wonderful people, a beautiful country and many other wonderful things about the UK. I am going to urge students wanting to study here to consider cheaper alternatives e.g. Australia or Canada. This country takes immigrants for granted; you just have to read the comments on BBC have your say or listen to radio to understand the hatred.

Am i the only one troubled by the mental health bill currently in parliament?
It includes provisions for detaining mentally ill people if the gov't thinks they may commit a crime in future. We now have 2 tiers of justice: the mentally ill have special provisions, and the 'sane' have theirs.
If this were happening in a dictatorship i.e. China and the Falun Gong, the gov't would get on its high horse and denounce the human rights abuses aimed at mentally ill people.

This government has excelled itself at attacking and targetting particular communities.
Bottom of the list and the most hated are asylum seekers. Blair's gov't was criticised for the inhumane policy aimed at asylum seekers by driving them into destitution. His gov't has deported asylum seekers back to theCongo, Zimbabwe, and recently Sudan where one deportee was tortured by Sudanese gov't agents and only managed to escape with his life by chance.
The attacks on muslims: internment, arbitrary arrests under the terrorism Acts , and the portrayal of muslims as fifth columnists frightens me about this country.

We can now add the mentally ill to that list.

British forces personnel and the Iran episode.

I haven't stopped laughing at the cojones shown by the Iranian regime to take hostage 15 sailors and marines from the Shatt al Arab waterway and detain them for 15 days.
Many in the developing world will also laugh and rejoice at the humiliation of a nation which, had a great navy used to conquer and humiliate millions around the globe, whose personnel didn't put up a fight when confronted by Iranian navy personnel.

The detainnes were treated well, they weren't renditioned to Gitmo on secret CIA flights with the complicity of a foreign government; they weren't humiliated by putting sacks (Gikunia) on their faces and forcibly wearing orange suits; they weren't held in the Iranian equivalent of Belmarsh for an indefinite period without trial.

All in all, it was a master stroke ny the Iranians. They have humiliated an imperialist force, which i must admit is wonderful news to me. The British have to realise they are no longer a world power. Thank you Iran for humiliating the johnnies, i'm glad they weren't harmed in any way. The same couldn't be said for Britain's humiliation of developing countries in Latin America, Asia and Africa.

Community service is usually done by criminals as an alternative to incarceration. The world social forum held in Nairobi last week, also counted as an opportunity for the Kenyan Lesbians, gays, transgender and transsexuals to demand their rights as human beings.
It didn't take long for the homophobes to also vent their anger at the gay community demanding their rights. Many have suggested that Kenya's archaic laws- an inheritance from Victorian Britain- should be used to incarcerate these people.

Why are religious groups so concerned with the consensual sex of adults?
It is NOT the role of the state or church to impose its morality on consenting adults. I suggest the Kenyan gov't repeals all homophobic laws and steps into the 21st century. Archbishop emeritus Desmon Tutu is vehemently opposed to homophobia in Africa. He equates it to racism and all other forms of discrimination. It is time Kenyans woke up and realised there is an elephant in the room: homosexuality has been with us since the dawn of man and is here to stay.

The state of so called 'detention centres'. They are actually prisons run by private compnaies (an idiosyncracy of nu labour cunts) whereby 'detainees' are imprisoned while their applications are pending, or awaiting removal from the UK.

It comes as no surprise there was a riot. One former detainee, George Mwangi, decribed the brutality meted out to prisoners: intimidation, racist abuse, and beatings are a common feature of the regime. Why should people be surprised that at some stage people will not accept any more brutality? Ann Owers, the prison inspector stated that the regime was similar to a maximum security prison. In other words, these poor refugees and overstayers are subject to a regime similar if not worse to the hardest nicks in the land. They haven't even committed any crime!

This government really fucking pisses me off. Over the last 2 days i have heard and read stories from Harmondsworth prison and this stupid fucking gov't should be ashamed of itself for locking up people whop have escaped wars, genocide, torture, FGM, religious persecution and many other horrible circumstances. Have they not suffered enough?

Following recent revelations on newsnight about the activities of these arseholes, it got me wondering about these islamists.
A quick perusal of their constitution reveals their 'desire' for the re establishment of a caliphate, abolished by Ataturk in 1924. One wonders whether living under sharia law would be acceptable to atheists, secularists, non muslims, jews and gays.

I must confess, i had never heard of Ted Haggerd until i saw Richard Dawkins' excellent Root of all evil documentary earlier this year. According to press reports, the UK leads the world in surveillance of its citizens.
Why and what for? The rise of the stasi in this country should frighten everybody .

It is time we take a stand against state intrusion through: ID cards; DNA databases; NHS database which private companies and the MI5 Stasi will have access to; internment; control orders; curtailing the right to protest within a mile of parliament etc.

I read with astonishment the behaviour of racist passengers who forced the pilot of a monarch air plane to eject two passengers of middle eastern appearance because of their fears of terrorism.

Here we are 16 years on: Burma isn't free; Suu Kyi is under house arrest; companies also deem it morally right to trade in such a nasty country.

Where did it go wrong? Has the media's obsession with Israel/Palestine meant that some countries deserve noor little coverage? Yes. It is about time the security council put sanctions ( South African style) to destroy the junta.
China and ASEAN nations have their role to play. The isolation of SA worked because neighbouring countries were against the apartheid machine. It is time the world got its act together and destroyed this regime( through peaceful means) once and for all.

I was surprised by the unfolding of the story surrounding Ms Hirsi Ali's refugee status in Holland. Much as i'm dismayed by the whole episode, i have to wonder whether the reaction of her political party (VVD) and most of the press is warranted.

During the early 20th century, many migrants to America, UK, Canada, would fabricate stories in order to gain admittance to safe, prosperous countries where they could be able to enjoy a better standard of life without fear or persecution.
The fact that Ms Ali qualified as a refugee under the convention in Nairobi, Kenya and was granted status there is irrelevant. She is a woman who has overcome overwhelming odds to ascend in to the Dutch political estanblishment.

Her valid criticisms of religious excesses have meant she lives under protection from armed guards round the clock. The fact that she is a woman, compounds the animosity and physical threats aimed at her. I have often repeated my assertion that new labour are authoritarian CUNTS and this confirms it. How will this big brother scheme work? Does the public realise what the contens of the databse are going to be ?
49 separate pieces of information in the database, no approximation of the cost to citizens- Indeed, the gov't is hiding behind commercial sensitivity and thus, failing to reveal the cost; How is it possible to update all this information? Will Irish citizens be required to carry the card?

I'm so disgusted by this hideous legislation, Bob Marshall Andrews QC, summed up how i feel about the legislation: It is a bad bill.

Religious caricatures vs fundamentalism

Following the recent furore over the Danish newspapers printing cartoons of Muhammad, it seems European newspapers have come to the aid of their colleagues in Denmark by printing the 'offensive' cartoons.
I applaud their courageous stance for the following reasons:
Europe is not a theocracy; thus, the printing of the cartoons depicting the founder of a religious ideology should not be forbidden. I would also support any brave soul who would do likewise in a muslim country.
Criticism/satirising/ offensive caricatures of religious figures is part of a healthy democracy and we should not be subject to the offensive death threats, bomb threats by superstitious masses.
Perhaps this highlights the difficulty encountered by Salman Rushdie in the late 80s when the satanic verses was published. Censorship prevents reform, discussion, and is the hallmark of dictatorships( i should know, i lived in one). Europe underwent various stages of religious barbarity: Galileo and the vatican, the inquisition, witch burning, genocide, ethnic cleansing etc.
It is therefore right, that we shouldn't defer to religious books and accept that criticism of figures such as Muhammad, Jesus, Abraham et al are acceptable and necessary for debate, and for protecting the idea of free speech.

Long live secularism. Bravo Jyllens post, France Soir, and all the other European papers that strive to support and protect free speech.

Let's examine Bob's record in the last year. Live8 was one of the most boring events of the year.

It seemed to me to be an exercise in publicising veteran bands, and increasing record slaes of bands that are already popular. Bob didn't invite a single African act- Yossou Ndour excpted- to Hyde park. What was the concert for? Who knows more about poverty, Emmanuel Jal or fucking Robbie williams? Bob relented to media pressure by organising a gig in Cornwall's Eden project. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the Africans were shunted to the west country.

Music giants such as Salif Keita, Papa wemba( human trafficking charge not withstanding), Koffi Olomide, Souad Massi, Khaled would wipe the floor with any line up in the live 8 gig.

Bob the tosser, sorry, the saviour of the beautiful continent, even had the opportunity to sing his fucked up songs at Hyde park. Pity the ears of the audience.

Bob isn't really serious about making poverty history, he is an egotist.

The reactionary rightwing pseudoscience writer who in the past two weeks has penned ignorant columns on MMR and the Paris riots. She got into a beef with Dr Ben Goldacre, the guardian's rational writer on 'bad science' about the MMR vaccine. Dr Andrew Wakefield was a maverick discredited doctor who disclosed his 'miniscule' study on the links between MMr and autism in a daily newspaper in 2001. Following peer review studies by several doctors, world authorities on autism, no link has been established. This hasn't stopped the likes of Phillips from writing articles questioning MMR vaccine safety. Responsible journalism?
It comes as no surprise that in this country, hardly a week goes by when we don't collective national hysteria. Recent examples have included: bullying, drinking, MRSA etc.
It is the tabloids that whip up this hysteria, resulting in the declining numbers of children whose parents refuse to vaccinate their kids against measles, mumps and rubella.
Perhaps people need to be reminded of the dangers of these diseases to children before they opt out of vaccination.

Another example of Phillips' flawed analysis was during the Paris riots. She claimed that islamists were behind the uprising in the hood. Several authorities in France have concluded that the riots were a result of the failure of the republic to give ethnic minorities opportunities at work,housing etc. This did not stop Phillips writing about islamists allegedly encouraging youths to riot. The again, why let facts get in the way ...........

I was astounded by the remarks of Mahmoud Ahmedinajad about destroying Israel.
Clearly this islamic fundamentalist moron has not acquainted himself with the language of international diplomacy. This remarks pose a serious threat not just to the security of Israel, but the entire middle east and ultimately, the world. At the risk of plunging us into world war 3, Iran must be condemned in the strongest possible terms by all members of the UN, she must also halt her development of WMD.

The thought of a theocracy having access to WMDs frightens the daylights out of most of the world. The IAEA must take an uncompromising stance backed up by the security council to halt Iran's weapons expansion programme. The Iranian revolution was greeted with joy by ordinary Iranians, following the brutal dictatorship of the secular shah regime.
The majority of Iranians were not born until after the revolution, the west must do all it can to destroy this theocracy by democratic means. We should desist from military action, or sanctions which would result in the deaths of thousands of civilians; but we should support the pro democrtic groups and students that are challenging the islamist theocracy of the Ayatollah.

This has got to be the worst summer in living memory for films. I cannot remember any films that i have enjoyed this summer. Crash was the outstanding summer film, the foreign offerings, documentaries have all sucked this year. Just what is going on?

The summer no brainer pop corn films have also been crap. The diet consisted of remakes, and comedies. I wish the London film festival has some outstanding films- the constant gardener- especially those of the foreign variety.

Yes, England have won the Ashes. They have beaten the best team in the world(no mean feat, considering they languished at the bottom of test ranking 6 years ago) but please, lets not any more of it.
Yesterday's media coverage was akin to a world cup triumph. The open top bus to Trafalgar sq, the incessant live reports od drunken players- Freddie Flitoff- and the soporific questions asked time and again. No wonder people hate the English around the world.

It's over, on terrestrial telly and Benaud has retired, Murdoch has got his grubby mitts on the live cricket next summer. The momentum and euphoria of the ashes will be forgotten by next summer when the world cup begins......I hope sky have lousy viewing figures.

The truth is coming out, and the met are trying to cover their tracks about the execution of an innocent Brazilian man. First, we were told he was linked to the 21/7 inquiry, he had jumped a ticket barrier, he was wearing a coat with wires sticking out, he ran away from police after they asked him to stop etc.
The lies are shocking, disgusting and remind me of the met pre Stephen Lawrence inquiry.
They always seem to close ranks, shifting the blame to the innocent man.
The IPCC leak was needed to highlight the fact that nobody was willing to correct the lies about the poor innocent immigrant who was going to work.

Ian Blair should resign, he has misled the public, is unwilling to take responsibility for the pathetic investigation delay, and his armed policemen are operating a shoot to kill policy.
Forgive me for my ignorance, whatever happened to the rule of law?
Didn't we invade Iraq to bring democracy and the rule of law?
How can we have policemen with the right to shoot and kill suspects?
Considering the fact that the victims will be people of colour, how can we have such dangerous policy in this country. It is time the policy were overhauled, we should not be living in fear of extra judicial killings just like Jean Charles De Menezes.

It is a prime example of yet another change in our laws and policy because of terrorism. How many other laws will be changed?
The beneficiaries are the terrorists, who through their barbarity, have made us change our way of life.

I thought those days were well and truly over. However, folloeing the 7/7 and 21/7 attacks, we have noticed an increased police presence in tube stations, and the targeting of Black and Asian men for random searches.

This policy will not implement anything but resentment and hostility to the police. I sincerely hop i'm not stopped by the police, but i have taken measures to avoid that. I don't carry a bag on the underground, i have noticed the nervous white faces gaping at me, and they then face their deepest held prejudices against me.

We shall see how long the met can maintain this ludicrous policy, as for ID cards, stop and search coupled with ID cards will do irreparable damage to race relations in this country .

The barbarians of al qeda have finally bombed London. No doubt, the security services have foiled attacks in the past, but bombs in the tube and on a bus have resulted in the deaths of over 50 innocent people.
Mayor Ken Livingstone spoke for London yesterday from Singapore, when he mentioned the indiscriminate nature of these attacks. These barbarians have no regard for life, race, religion, nationality or political persuasion. They were used to create mass casualties and disrupt, frighten, and overwhelm the good people of London.

I hope these barbarians are apprehended, prosecuted and incarcerated in our prisons.
They should never be released from jail, for this heinous crime against civilians on their way to work. We will not let these fascists win, we will not alter our way of life, we will not bring in draconian legislation, or legislate in haste in response to this atrocity.
London should carry on as usual, they may have bombed us, but we will not be defeated by fascists living in our midst.

I sincerely hope that the citizens of this nation do not attack muslims or mistreat them in any way. Muslims were affected by the bombs as much as any other community. The muslim community should not be scapegoats for vitriol or violence because of the actions of a few barbarians claiming to be the true 'muslims'.

Finally, the work of the emergency services, was astounding, and their tireless and dedicated efforts to help Londoners should not be forgotten. Indeed, the death toll could have been higher had the emergency services not responded in such a professional and outstanding manner.

Incitement to religious hatred

Once again, folks, new labour has decided to attack free speech. They have announced new laws to 'combat' incitement against religious hatred. Forgive me, but this smacks of opportunism by new labour. Thy invaded Iraq, pissed off a lot of muslims, saw their share of the muslim vote decrease in certain areas, and now to please the muslims: they have decided to introduce this legislation.

I'm utterly disgusted, because religion, unlike race, is an ideology. Whilst i cannot change my black colour( Michael Jackson notably excepted), i can, and have changed my belief in the supernatural. Why do i now need protection as an atheist?
There are sufficient laws to cover incitement against individuals, we do not need new laws to cover superstition.
Liberal democrat MP, Evan Harris, introduced an amendment which would have significantly reduced the risk of damaging free speech. The government voted against it, and imposed a whip on all labour MPs.
This law is unnecessary, dangerous, and is against the enlightenment. Suddenly, we are drawn back to the dark ages of theocratic power. Our only hope is the unelected House of Lords whom, in their collective wisdom have repeatedly protected our civil liberties from reichsfuhrer Blair's assault on the constitution.

I sincerely hope the House of Lords will dispense with the Salisbury convention and vote with their conscience against this insidious bill.

Religious fundamentalism among african immigrants

I was disgusted by the case of the Angolan( yeah, right) refugees who tortured and abused a child because of the alleged possession by' evil spirits'.
In what must have sounded like the Arthur Miller play 'The Crucible' , this casehas highlighted the Christian fundamentalism within our midst in this great city. I'm no enthusiast of middle eastern syperstitions, but this is not the first case of evangelical bullshit resulting in the serious injury and near death of children because of superstition.

Wood Green and Bounds Green are awash with posters of 'evangelical crusades' with self styled prophets, and healers form the African continent. They offer some sort of community amongst newly arrived immigrants in their churches, and exploit the vulnerable and naive culture shocked congregations with tales of healing and exorcism.
The authorities, as ever, seem to bend overbackwards to accommodate religion and are often reluctant to prosecute these religious barbarians until it is too late.

I am fed up of this nonsense, and it is time there was a clampdown on these churches which exploit vulnerable people.

ID cards: The new poll tax.

Following the news http://observer.guardian.co.uk/politics/story/0,6903,1494944,00.html that the new ID card scheme is scheduled to cost each individual £300, i wonder why the government thinks will be accepted by the general population.
£300 is a substantial amount to pay for your civil liberties to be infringed by this authoritarian government. The gov't is underestimating the anger amongst British people about this scheme.
I will not pay for an ID card, i will not register for one either. I am an ID refusenik and there are millions of people who will defy this new law if it comes into force at the end of the year or early next year.

This is labour's poll tax. Id cards don't reduce terrorism or stop it. Madrid, Paris, Nairobi are examples of cities which have an id card scheme, but it did not stop the terrost attacks.
ID cards do not stop illegal immigration either. Spain recently announced an amnesty for its illegals, and up to 1 million people registered for new work permits under the amnesty.
Tell us reichschancellor Blair, the id card scheme did not halt the 1 million illegals in Spain, did it?

As for the often repeated claim that ID cards will cut benefit fraud, most benefit fraud is a result of lying about circumstances. The card will not cut fraud.

Of all man's creations, this is the most unpalatable. It is responsible for mass murder, torture and all sort of barbaric acts against humanity.
In Africa, the continent seems to be the HQ of superstition. Nigeria, Uganda, Egypt, Kenya, Somalia and Rwanda have suffered from the effects of middle eastern superstition imported to the beautiful continent.

Christianity as practised by Africans is very conservative especially with the issue of homosexuality. There are numerous superstitious people who claim homosexuality can be cured, AIDS is a gay disease, and are unwilling to accept gays amongst their congragations, and in their societies. Homosexuality is but one issue, abortion, the death penalty, women's rights and the imposition of 'christian ' values upon their countrymen affects all.

Islam is also another middle eastern superstition affecting the continent.
The riots in northern Nigeria following the imposition of the criminal code of sharia upon the poor denizens of the region, has highlighted the dangers of superstitious beliefs being enshrined in law. Stoning of women, limb amputation, and barbaric criminal sanctions are some of the consequences of a surge towards theocracy in northern Nigeria.

Religion is a personal matter and secularism is the best way we can accommodate all beliefs in government.

Finally, election day is here. After 4 weeks of incessant campaigning, racism, and boredom, the fucking election is over today.

As for our incumbent MP, Barbara Roche, hopefully the good constituents of Hornsey and Wood Green will give her her marching orders. The Lib Dems think it's gonna be tight and so do the electorate. If the liberal lefties vote Lib Dem today, it will be bye bye labour.

Tony Blair and his servile fawning MPs in the commons ( Roche et al ) have only themselves to blame. Iraq, tuition fees, Civil liberties, PFI, David Blunkett, war on terror, the clampdown on immigrants and refugees is the reason i will not be voting labour.

The Bnp manifesto( don't expect a fucking link) was no fucking surprise. Their wonky eyed fascist leader talked about 'voluntary repatriation' as a manifesto commitment.
Now, i am aware that they are a minority party, thank goodness for first past the post as an electoral sytem. The thought of the BNP fascist cunts winning seats in parliament would scare every ethnic minority, liberal or leftie in the land.

As for volutary repatriation and expulsion of non white residents of this country, it does surprise that a party advocating policies absent in Europe since the deportation of the Jews, would be ignored by the press. Unfortunately, it seems rules governing the reporting of elections mean the local nazis must have their manifesto launch covered.
Now, i'm not one to advocate stifling of the press, but iwas disturbed by the content of their proposals, and 5 live had an interview with their leader.

This country is becoming quite intolerant if you are Black, Asian, Jewish,a refugee or Gypsy.
Suddenly, racism has become quite acceptable even amongst mainstream parties e.g. the tories and their 'quotas' for refugees, along with their Gypsy 'flouting planning laws' inflammatory and insidious language.

Europe has never learned to deal with immigrants in its societies. This hideous election just confirms what every European country goes through before elections. The language, the overall hostility perpetrated by the right wing media, the myths about immigration and asylum, have made this country very intolerant.

Let us never kid ourselves that Britain has a history of welcoming immigrants and refugees. The Alien act (1905) , The commonwealth Immigration Acts of the 1960s, The British Nationality Act(1981) and Herr Blunkett's Immigration and Asylum legislation since '97 indicate that, Britain is welcoming, is a falsehood and a myth especially for Jews, Afro Caribbean, Asian, Chinese, East European who were the individuals the legislation mentioned above was aimed at.

Japanese martial arts seem to prosper in London, there are a great many exponents of the art in this great city. Unfortunately, the schisms coupled with the politics, leave a sour taste in the mouth. Most organisations are run by senior sensei(teacher) who have trained for decades and achieved high black belt degrees.

The problem is when they all seem to have ideas as to how to run, improve, market- most clubs are businesses after all- their organisations and clubs.
Many senior sensei in the UK trained under Keinosuke Enoeda 9th dan JKA. He was and remains the most respected karateka in this country, even 2 years after his death.
The splits, the politics following his death disgust any enthusiast of the sport.
Why do there have to be splits every time?
Maybe i should have done Brazilian jiu Jitsu( Gracie), a more efective street fighting art instead of the commercialised sport that is shotokan karate.

Here we go again, the general election is turning nastier day by day.
'Are you thinking what we are thinking?' No, we are not. The tories have returned to their nasty past by targetting vulnerable people such as refugees by claiming that they will impose refugee quotas, and withdraw from the refugee convention(1951).

The most surprising thing about the tories, is the fact that their leader, one, Michael Hecht(oops, Howard) is a 2nd generation immigrant from Romania(Transylvania, hence the dracula jokes) .
He escaped the holocaust, his grandfather was an illegal immigrant(who cares about that fact, anyway) and yet, he seeks to bring in draconian legislation which would have hindered his family from sanctuary if it were in force when his family escaped the barbarity of the holocaust.

The tories are the nasty party, and i cannot wait for May 6th when Howard announces he is resigning from the leadership of the tory party after another resounding electoral defeat.

New labour are not much better either. They detain refugees in so called 'reception centres' where recent allegations of staff brutality are being investigated.
New labour and their friends in the private sector i.e. Jarvis et al are the bastard sons of Thatcher. Hopefully, with tactical voting the general populus is able to distinguish between Blairite neo liberals, and the real left wing labour MPs who have often rebelled against the party.

Time to give Blair a bloody nose on May 5th.
